20 Sept Preview: Battle of Manchester, London duel

Manchester United vs Manchester City
Form:                      (WLWWW)               (WWWW)

Matt:  Match of the day 1!  Tevez will probably get a warm reception, but frankly as a United fan I do not like him any more after the ruckus he created over the summer.  With home advantage, the champions will hopefully continue their streak of ending winning streaks following the victories over Arsenal and Tottenham.  If Tevez isn't passed fit, United will only have to contend with the sole threat of golfer Craig Bellamy.  Poor Sparky.  So many strikers, only one choice.  Darren "Keane" Fletcher to own the midfield, "AllSpark" Rooney to score at least one and "Sheikhs and the City" to go home with their tails between their legs.

Prediction:  3-1

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Fulham
Form:                      (LWLDL)                             (WLLW)

Matt: The team with the longest name takes on the team with the shortest name.  Least interesting game of the day.  Relegation contenders versus Mid-tablers.  Match falls into Hull City vs Birmingham City and Bolton vs Stoke City category.  Please refer to those match previews below to get a clearer picture of what I mean.  Not worth my/your time.

Prediction:  The sun will rise in the east.

Everton vs Blackburn Rovers
Form:                            (LLWL)      (LLDW)

Matt:  Everton are supposedly slow starters but they've been crawling like babies since the first day.  Maybe it's because of the bibs they're wearing...

My word, even I would start kicking and bawling if I were made to wear that.  Everton have to kickstart their season here if they are to stay in contention for a European place.  The Toffees are really missing their creative talisman in Mikel Arteta and now things get worse with captain Phil Neville sustaining a serious knee injury.  Moyes must be cursing his luck with injuries.  BIG Sam has a good opportunity to rub salt into the Toffees' wounds and build on their first win last weekend.  Or will Moyes and his Baby Blues have a stroll in the Park?

Prediction:  2-1

Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspurs
Form:                   (WWWWW)      (WWWWL)

Matt:  Match of the day 2!  After being thoroughly outclassed by Manchester United last week, Harry will have to weave his magic again if they are to take anything away from Stamford Bridge.  He'll likely have to take the bus parked in front of goal and drive it through the middle to break down Chelsea's clogged midfield.  Aaron the Hedgehog will have a tough fight on his hands (feet?) against another world-class right-back in Cashley Cole, so Tottenham have to find another outlet to supply crosses from the wings.  From one old age home to another, Carlo Ancelotti has done remarkably well in transforming Chelski the dull, colourless, boring machine into Chelski the entertaining, exciting but still efficient machine.  With D-Dog back from a midweek break, Chelsea will hope to be firing on all cylinders to extend their unbeaten run.  Nevertheless, Harry Potter he may not be but sometimes Harry's a miracle-worker in disguise...

Prediction: 3-2
