Highlights!
London Bridge
Chelsea proved their title credentials with a trashing of Tottenham. Tottenham started the season brightly but were duly taught a lesson by Manchester United last week and Chelsea today. Chelsea had Didier Drogba and Jose Bosingwa fresh after they missed out on the midweek Champions League game due to suspension. Ashley Cole, Michael Ballack and Didier Drogba all scored to bring Chelsea back to the top of the table.
The scoreline definitely flattered Chelsea. Tottenham deserved at least a goal for their efforts. Jermaine Defoe was denied by Cech and Palacios saw his shot fizzle past the post.
The game was riddled with injuries as Bassong was stretchered off for what looked like a serious injury, while King and Drogba limped off after self-inflicted injuries. Definitely not good news for Harry Redknapp as Bassong, King, Dawson and Woodgate are all out, and all of them vacate the central defence position. He must be cursing his luck with injuries. Tottenham's weakest point would be in defence and with key defenders out, Redknapp will be having sleepless nights.
