Bolton Wanderers vs Tottenham Hotspur
Form: (L L W D W) (W W L L W)
Matt: A reinvigorated Bolton Wanderers face a Tottenham side still licking their lips after mauling Burnley last week. The Trotters have done well recently after picking up 7 out of 9 points in the last three games, albeit against teams that have been predicted to be involved in the relegation dogfight. Tottenham will be a totally different challenge. Spurs are Keane on building on last week's five-star show and Harry Houdini would expect a victory to establish his side in the top six. Harry's magical trio of Keane, Crouch and Defoe have already pulled eleven goals out of the hat between them; however, the latter is very doubtful for the game after suffering an injury to his hand last week. Bolton have yet to keep a clean sheet so far, so expect a high-scoring game with Spurs probably having enough quality to seal the win.
Prediction: 2-3
Burnley vs Birmingham City
Form: (W L L W L) (D L L W L)
Matt: The only reason why Burnley are in mid-table is the fact that they still remarkably have a 100% winning record at home. The stark difference in their home and away form is jaw-dropping. When Owen Coyle's side play at home, Turf Moor is transformed into a fortress where Black Cats and Devils have been felled, but outside the sanctity of their Turf they turn into meek little lambs ready for the slaughter. The Clarets have yet to score away and Brian Jensen, "the Beast", has pawed the ball out of his net 14 times already! Birmingham are surprisingly joint-second along with Man United and Chelsea in keeping goals out with only 6 goals allowed so far, but what use is that if you've only scored 4 goals? Brum admittedly do have a very tight, strong defence, not unlike the old Bolton, but it's like being armed with a titanium shield and a toothpick. The two teams have scored only 9 goals between them, so don't expect any fireworks. A long slog towards the final whistle I predict...
Prediction: 1-0
Hull City vs Wigan Athletic
Form: (W D L L L) (L L W L W)
Matt: Wigan turned the formbook on its head last week with an emphatic and utterly startling win over Chelsea so who knows what to expect this week? Hull City have been a disgrace in the past few games really; absolutely atrocious defending coupled with Phil Brown's bewildering managerial decisions have resulted in the tame Tigers shipping 19 goals - the worst in the league and deservedly so. The next chapter in the Hull Circus emerged today with the appointment of 35-year old Nick Barmby, who has four substitute appearances this season, as captain. With all due respect, Barmby is no Ryan Giggs. How does Brown expect a bench-warmer to lead his team on the pitch? Brown's probably still affected by the altitude sickness he caught when his team mounted the peak of the EPL table last year. Anyway, as I said earlier this week, if Wigan play with the same attitude as they did against Chelsea, they'll have no problem finishing up the table; and definitely no problem knocking the stuffing out of the Tigers.
Prediction: 0-2
Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Portsmouth
Form: (L D L W L) (L L L L L)
Matt: Wolves didn't deserve to lose to Sunderland that badly last week; in fact, their attacks were almost too fierce for the Black Cats to repel at times in a spirited display. Portsmouth, well, admittedly didn't warrant a loss either, but poor finishing and even worse luck cost them dear. How often is it that you see a team being applauded off the pitch after losing 7 straight games? Paul Hart's team can't be faulted for lack of effort but they are certainly due a badly-needed slice of luck soon, hopefully along with financial salvation. Sadly, Wolves' firepower appears too overwhelming for a Portsmouth side bereft of confidence and strong leadership. Given the circumstances, I'll pick Wolves to snatch a win, albeit reluctantly in view of Portsmouth's predicament.
Prediction: 2-1
Manchester United vs Sunderland
Form: (W W W W W) (W L W L W)
Matt: Steve Bruce brings his Sunderland side to Old Trafford with last week's almighty fright by Wolves still undoubtedly fresh in his mind. Wolves gave the Black Cats a real run for their money last week with their incessant, rapid attacks that Sunderland at times had no answer to. So you can imagine what will happen if United decide to go up to fifth gear in this match-up. Now, more on United. You have to stand up and applaud the tactical genius that is Sir Alex Ferguson. He has assembled his team in such a way that it is impossible to predict who will play in midfield and attack, thereby giving his opposite number no clue as to how to counter United. Whoever he chooses to play has been instilled with the same hunger, attacking impetus and burning desire that runs through his veins. United can be guaranteed more silverware under Ferguson's watch and it'll take an extraordinary manager to succeed the wily old Scot. Back to the matter of the match; United approach this home game full of confidence after their morale-boosting comeback win over Wolfsburg. With Ryan Giggs in possibly the best form of his career, an "omnipotent" attack as described by Alan Hansen and a reasonably mean defence, the Red juggernaught looks unstoppable. United to leave the Black Cats licking their wounds, but Sunderland to make a good fight of it first.
Fab: When Manchester United play Sunderland, we think Roy Keane. The former Red was a fantastic leader for both teams, captaining Manchester United to glory and guiding Sunderland to the world's most prestigious league. However, with Keane gone, Steve Bruce has kept Sunderland going strong in the EPL and they sit 8th in the table. Will he be able to stop the league leaders in their tracks?
Manchester United Team News
Sir Alex Ferguson's team come into this match after a midweek encounter with VFL Wolfsburg. United are still on a winning streak since losing to Burnley in August. They put 2 past a defensively tight Stoke last week and will look to put more past a recently porous Sunderland defence. Michael Owen picked up an injury in midweek and will sit out this match but Dimitar Berbatov has returned to form with a goal last week and a top class performance against Wolfsburg even though he didn't score. Giggs played the full 90 minutes in midweek, so he will likely be on the bench for this match while Paul Scholes will most probably start. Michael Carrick has signalled to Sir Alex that he's back in form and will want a place in the starting lineup. Nani looks likely to replace Giggs on the left as Park is out with a virus. He had a bad day against Stoke last week and will be looking to improve on that. Ben Foster should take his place back from Tomasz Kuzszack with Van Der Sar still out.
Sunderland Team News
Darren Bent, what an excellent signing by Steve Bruce! 6 goals in 7 games and a budding partnership with Kenwyne Jones, who himself has scored 4 goals for the club. Sunderland will look to their on-fire strike partnership of Bent and Jones to torture the Manchester United defence which was shaky against Stoke and Man City. Injury wise, Sunderland only have Lee Cattermole out. Steve Bruce will have a full team to choose from. It will likely be the same lineup that started against Wolves with the exception of Cattermole. Sunderland had a rest in midweek and will be fresh for the visit to Old Trafford.
The Match
This game has "high scoring" written all over it. A Sunderland defence that has conceded 5 goals in the last 2 matches face an in-form Berbatov and Rooney, and over on the other side, a shaky Ferdinand and Foster are up against Bent and Jones who have scored 10 goals between them. Definitely an exciting match at Old Trafford! Sir Alex will be moaning about not having that extra day rest having to play just 3 days after seeing off Wolfsburg while rivals Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal all play on Sunday. However, he will rally his troops and want to retain that top spot before the international break. Steve Bruce will be calling on his defence to wake up after conceding 5 in 2 games and they can ill afford anymore mistakes against United.
Key Players/Battles
Wayne Rooney vs Craig Gordon
The return of Craig Gordon wasn't enough to stop Sunderland from conceding 5 goals in the last 2 EPL matches. This time he is up against Wayne Rooney, who although has stopped scoring in recent matches, is still a top class striker and can create magic out of nothing. His energy and hustling will trouble the Sunderland defence. Looks like Wayne will get back to scoring form.
Winner: Wayne Rooney
Ben Foster vs Darren Bent
Ben Foster isn't a fans favourite after his terrible performance against Man City and everytime he plays, he instills fear not in his opponets, but in the hearts of United fans. He is no doubt a very good goalkeeper but he needs to maintain his consistency in order to keep goalscoring machine Darren Bent out. However, with Bent and Jones bound to be firing at Foster's goal, its hard to see him keeping out Bent.
Winner: Darren Bent
Dimitar Berbatov
The Bulgarian gave a great performance in midweek and if he can maintain that form, he will cause great trouble to the Sunderland defence. His vision, creativity and ball control is fantastic but he will need to improve on his finishing. Can the Bulgarian repay the faith that Sir Alex has placed in him after splashing 30+million for his signature?
Prediction: Matt: Manchester United 3-1 Sunderland
Fab: Manchester United 4-2 Sunderland
Chelsea vs Liverpool
Form: (W W W W L) (L W W W W)
Matt: Chelsea and Carlo Ancelotti are still reeling from their shocking defeat at Wigan last week as evident by the meek performance in midweek while Liverpool's supposed full recovery from their early season blip all went horribly wrong in Florence. Chelsea have been woefully out-of-sorts for their past two games, with this slide noticeably coinciding with Frank Lampard's loss of form. The Blues' midfield dynamo is a vital cog of Chelsea's engine and they dearly need him functioning at his very best again. Fortunately, they'll have the formidable Didier Drogba back to spearhead their attack for this game. Defensive-wise, Chelsea were made to look oh-so-ordinary at Wigan, with Carvalho exceptionally poor and slow. He must be having sleepless nights at the prospect of facing the pacy Fernando Torres on Sunday.
Liverpool don't look too good in defence as well - Jamie Carragher appears to be increasingly sluggish in his movement, something that comes with age which similarly plagues Carvalho. Glen Johnson and Emiliano Insua are more of attackers than defenders, thus making Liverpool look worringly unstable at the back. Benitez's zonal marking system compounds this problem as Liverpool look like conceding every time they face a set piece. In attack, despite his (fluke) goal last week Steven Gerrard looks nowhere near his best. I've said it before and I'll say it again: only the brilliance of Torres is keeping Liverpool up the table and winning games. Take him and Gerrard out and see what happens to Liverpool.
Creaking defences and potent attacks. This match is a recipe for goals galore and hopefully the neutrals get to watch a spectacle just as entertaining as the 4-4 draw that illuminated last year's Champions League. A draw ain't that bad for Man United as well.
Fab: The last match at Stamford Bridge saw Chelsea send Tottenham crashing home. This time, the Blues welcome the Merseyside Reds. Liverpool are on top form after stumbling in the first few matches while Chelsea are losing focus after their winning streak was ended by Wigan last week. While that doesn't seem too good for Chelsea, they are still unbeaten at Stamford Bridge and Liverpool have struggled all season away from home with narrow wins over West Ham and Bolton. Will Liverpool take something away from Stamford Bridge or will Chelsea rediscover their form? Sunday's Match of the Day!
Chelsea Team News
Deco returned in midweek for Chelsea while Michael Ballack and John Obi Mikel are doubtful. Alex continues to be sidelined. Ancelotti would surely have noticed Ivanovic's less than impressive performance against Apoel Nicosia. Jose Bosingwa, who was suspended in that game along with Didier Drogba, should replace Ivanovic at right back. Didier Drogba will be looking to continue his good goalscoring form after being rested (suspended) in midweek. He will be fresh and looking to torture a confidence-lacking Liverpool defence. However, Ancelotti will be worried about his defence. Petr Cech was sent off last week against Wigan and Henrique Hilario will replace him against Liverpool. Ancelotti must be sweating each time Liverpool attack! Someone prepare a towel for Carlo please!
Liverpool Team News
Has complacency creeped into Liverpool's players? After thumping Hull 6-1, they succumbed to a 2-0 defeat by Fiorentina in the Champions League. No doubt Liverpool will need to work on their defence after conceding goals from situations that defenders should have had covered. Stevan Jovetic and Mutu combined to beat Liverpool's offside trap and had their defenders looking like fools. Jovetic again wasn't closed down for the second goal, just like Geovanni's goal last week. Rafael Benitez will want his defenders to be focused against Hot Drog or they will surely pay the price. No matter how good Torres and Gerrard can combine up front, they still need to keep it tight at the back. After all, they are playing away, and Liverpool's away form hasn't been convincing. Wins by a 1 goal margin against West Ham and Bolton surely isn't what you expect from a Liverpool team that put 6 past Hull and 4 past Burnley. Good chance for Liverpool to improve and bounce back from their midweek disappointment with Hilario in goal. Can Carragher keep it tight at the back, and will Torres score yet another hat-trick? Wear red for luck if you believe in it, for Liverpool will need some.
The Match
The Italian Master vs the Spaniard Shuffler. Ancelotti will want to protect Chelsea's unbeaten home record after losing their perfect start to Wigan last week. Benitez will want an improvement from the Reds after losing to Fiorentina in midweek. Both teams need a win but only 1 team will get it. A point for either side doesn't seem enough so both sides will be out to get all 3 points. With both defences not at its best, and both going for the win, we could see an open match.
Key Players/Battles
Henrique Hilario vs Fernando Torres
Do we need a verdict on this? Do we even need to discuss this? Torres is on top form while Hilario has been warming the bench until last week when he came on to pick the ball out of his net twice. Hilario must be praying for a miracle!
Winner: Fernando Torres
Frank Lampard vs Steven Gerrard
Two of England's greatest talents. England managers have found it hard to play them in the same side. Seems like it's better to pair them against each other. Lamps has been dark in front of goal recently but has still been contributing a good deal of assists. Stevie is in good form even though he has only scored 1 goal (or fluke) in the last 4 matches. Who will rise to the occasion? Will Lamps light up or will the Liverpool captain show he's the better Englishman?
Winner: Hard to choose!
Didier Drogba vs Jamie Carragher
Caught sleeping by Stevan Jovetic, Carragher must be looking forward to make amends by shackling Drogba. Drogba, fresh and on fire, must already be tasting the goals and thinking about his celebrations. An on fire Drogba versus a sleeping Carragher. Don't think Carragher will wake up yet. Maybe after a Drogba baptism of fire.
Winner: Didier Drogba
Prediction: Fab: Chelsea 2-1 Liverpool
Matt: Chelsea 3-3 Liverpool
Arsenal vs Blackburn Rovers
Form: (W L L W W) (L D W L W)
Fab: Emirates welcome the resurgent Rovers. Blackburn bounced back from their defeat against Everton to impressively overcome Aston Villa 2-1 last week. Up against the Gunners, will they be gunned down? Or have they come wearing their bulletproof vests?
Arsenal Team News
The sight of Andrei Arshavin's back-flick goal against Olympiakos must have warmed the hearts of Arsenal fans. Arshavin is back and fully fit. They had to play 2 tough matches coming into this one, narrowly squeezing past Fulham and Olympiakos. How Arsenal fans must be rubbing their hands in delight at the sight of Paul Robinson. They had to break down a stubborn Mark Schwarzer and Antonis Nikopolidis but now they have Paul Robinson at their mercy. Robin Van Persie and Co. must love this. Nothing new on the injury front as Vito Mannone continues in goal for Arsenal. He has been fantastic so far and will surely fight Almunia for a starting place.
Blackburn Team News
Sam Allardyce brings his team to the Emirates this week after narrowly beating Aston Villa last week at Ewood Park. He must still be concerned at his team's roller-coaster form and will want to at least take a point home from the Emirates. His decision to drop Benni McCarthy in favour of Di Santo is a surprise after McCarthy's scoring comeback. Will he stick with Di Santo or will McCarthy get a chance to prove himself? Rovers have scored 6 goals in 6 games but Di Santo didn't even score 1. Allardyce continues his fortune with injury as only Gael Givet is out. Can he choose the right team to stop Arsene Wenger's boys?
The Match
The combination of Fabregas, Van Persie and Arshavin was wonderful against Olympiakos even though they failed to break down Nikopolidis until the 78th minute and subsequently a marginally offside goal by Arshavin. If these 3 can maintain their wonderful partnership, then there's no chance Paul Robinson and Co. can stop them. Sorry Rovers look set to be steamrolled by Arsenal's Three Musketeers.
Key Players/Battles
Robin Van Persie vs Paul Robinson
Not really a key battle actually. I don't see how Robinson is going to stop Van Persie. Definitely not if Van Persie plays like he did against Olympiakos. It's probably just a matter of how many times Robinson picks the ball out of his net.
Winner: Robin Van Persie
Bacary Sagna vs Morten Gamst Pedersen
Pedersen has always been seen as one of the stars of the Blackburn team. However, he has failed to live up to that name in recent times. A good performance against the Gunners could be a stepping stone to rebuilding his star status. Will he be able to overcome Bacary Sagna? Tough chance.
Winner: Leaning slightly towards Sagna, but hard to say really
Prediction: Arsenal 3-0 Blackburn
Everton vs Stoke City
Form: (L W L W W) (D W L D L)
Fab: Everton entertain Tony Pulis’ Stoke City this weekend at Goodison Park. Having started the season poorly, Everton seem to have pulled themselves together after stringing together 4 wins in the last 4 matches. In that 4 matches, they have scored 10 goals and conceded only 1. They may not have faced the toughest of opponents but it is definitely a confidence boost for Moyes’ team. Stoke City come into the match on the back on a defeat by Manchester United at the Britannia Stadium. After starting the season brightly, Stoke have not won in the last 3 Premier League games, with the last win coming over Sunderland in August (aside from the Carling Cup win over Blackpool). Stoke have 2 draws and 1 loss in the 3 away games they have played this season while Everton have 2 wins and 1 loss at home. Will Moyes be able to guide his injury-ravaged team past a defensively stout Stoke?
Everton Team News
Everton’s injury woes continue with Joseph Yobo and Steven Pienaar out. It is yet to be confirmed how long Yobo will be out but it doesn’t look good for Everton. Alongside Yobo and Pienaar on the treatment table are Phil Neville, Anichebe, Jagielka and Arteta with long term injuries. Jack Rodwell is doubtful too. Moyes must take heart from Everton’s performance in midweek, coming from behind to overcome BATE Borisov. Tony Hibbert gave a good performance in place of the injured Yobo and that should be good news for Everton. Louis Saha had a good rest over the week and should be fresh for this encounter with Stoke. If Everton are to overcome a stubborn Stoke, this man would have to be on form to break them down.
Stoke Team News
Tony Pulis will be urging his team to pick themselves up after losing to Manchester United last weekend. They now face an in-form Everton and will need to defend for their lives if they are to stop the likes of Louis Saha and Tim Cahill. Ricardo Fuller is nearing a return and could even earn a place on the bench but the other injury victims are still out.
The Match
David Moyes will want his team to register yet another win and make it 5 out of 5. Lying near the bottom of the table early last month, Everton have climbed back up the ladder and are now 9th. Only 1 point separates Everton from 12th placed Stoke. If Stoke win here, they will jump above Everton and sit in the top half of the table. Stingy Stoke have only conceded 9 goals in 7 games. Can they stop Everton from scoring and maybe get something from Goodison Park?
Key Players/Battles
Louis Saha
With so many players injured, Saha will need to rise up above all and continue his scoring form in order to propel Everton further up the table. All eyes will be on him.
Tim Cahill
Scored the winner in midweek and Everton will surely look to him when they attack. They must first create before they can score. Without Arteta, they will look to Cahill’s creativity.
Thomas Sorensen
The experienced goalkeeper must put in a top class performance and be on his guard all day against Everton if Stoke are to escape with something.
Prediction: Everton 1-1 Stoke City
West Ham United vs Fulham
Form: (L D L L L) (L L W L L)
Fab: Carlton Cole has scored 3 goals for the Hammers, but the Hammers remain 3rd from the bottom and still winless at home. They have also lost their last 4 matches with their only win of the season coming in the game against Wolves. Fulham are not that good either after losing the last 2 EPL games to Arsenal and Wolves. On the bright side, Roy Hodgson saw his team overcome FC Basel in midweek thanks to a Danny Murphy goal.
West Ham Team News
Not the best of seasons for a team that’s expected to be at least in mid-table. Gianfranco Zola must stir his team up and get them out of the relegation zone before he finds himself in the firing line of his bosses. Jack Collison and Matthew Upson are doubtful for the match while long term injury victims Dean Ashton and Boa Morte remain out. Zavon Hines lost his place to new Italian signing Alessandro Diamanti who has only scored 1 goal so far (a fluke penalty) and hasn’t impressed the Hammers’ fans. The Hammers depend too much on Carlton Cole. If the whole team begin to contribute more goals, there may still be hope for them.
Fulham Team News
Played well against Arsenal last week and definitely didn’t deserve to lose. Fulham would be really tired after having to work against FC Basel in midweek and now travel to Upton Park. Will they be lethargic against a fresh West Ham who didn’t have to play in midweek? Danny Murphy scored the winner in midweek and may just be the man to make the difference here if Fulham want to get away with something and avoid the relegation zone. With not much of an injury worry at the moment, Roy Hodgson will only worry about his players' fatigue, having to play away just 3 days after an UEFA cup game.
The Match
A must win game for both teams. If West Ham win, they will move out of the relegation zone and exchange places with Fulham. Fulham will not want to be in the relegation zone and surely fight West Ham for 3 points here. West Ham have been poor all season and they will want to register a first home win of the season. 0 points on home soil isn’t good news for Zola and a win will surely bring joy to the fans. Both teams have only scored 10 goals between them so don’t expect an exciting game. Who will win the “relegation zone” battle? Will the Cottagers be Hammered?
Prediction: West Ham United 0-0 Fulham
Aston Villa vs Manchester City
Form: (W W W W L) (W W W L W)
Fab: Martin O’Neill’s boys lost to a late David Dunn goal last week, breaking their perfect record away from home. They cannot afford to lose another game if they want to break into the Big Four. Manchester City won last week against a relegation-threatened West Ham with Carlos Tevez scoring a brace and refusing to celebrate. A cash-rich City have signalled their intentions to break into the Big Four with 5 wins and 1 loss (coming against city rivals United) and they now sit 5th in the Barclays Premier League table. Both teams are touted to break into the Big Four this season but who’s the better team? Free spending City or tight-stringed Villa?
Aston Villa Team News
Richard Dunne faces his former team for the first time ever since leaving the Eastlands. He will be out to prove Mark Hughes that it was a wrong decision to sell him. He has performed well in his 3 games in a Villa shirt and is looking like a first team regular now. His combination with Collins and Friedel is proving hard to break down having conceded only 5 goals in 6 games. Steve Sidwell and Luke Young are on the road to recovery and may even be awarded a place on the bench while Stewart Downing and Curtis Davies remain sidelined. Gabby Agbonlahor has been in rich form and the man will want to keep his scoring boots on. However, Villa have been too dependent on Agbonlahor and will need everyone else to contribute more goals, especially Ashley Young.
Manchester City Team News
The derby defeat never affected them as they went on to beat Fulham and West Ham United. Mark Hughes’ summer signings have proved to be really good ones with Carlos Tevez, Emmanuel Adebayor and Gareth Barry all scoring. The only worry for him will be defensive duo Kolo Toure and Joleon Lescott who have yet to gel with each other’s game. It almost sounds like the Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard problem in England’s midfield. Toure and Lescott are no doubt top defenders, but individual talent means nothing if they get in each other’s way all the time. Stephen Ireland and Vincent Kompany are doubtful while Onuoha, Robinho and Benjani are still out with long term injuries.
The Match
It will be a tough match at Villa Park with both teams seeking to break into the Big Four. This will be a great chance for Villa to play catch up as they still lie only 7th in the table. A win over Man City will take them above their opponents and put them one step closer to their dreams. If Lescott and Toure continue to fumble, Agbonlahor and Co. will have a good chance to test the rock solid Shay Given. They will have to beware on the other end as Man City have been potent in front of goal, scoring 14 goals in 6 games. Aston Villa have the best defensive record in the league and will want to show that it is no fluke with a clean sheet against free-scoring City. Both goalkeepers will be up for a busy day.
Key Players/Battles
Brad Friedel vs Carlos Tevez
The Duracell-battery operated Argentinean will be up against a solid Villa defence line led by the ever impressive Brad Friedel. Tevez put 2 past Robert Green last week, but can he even put one past Friedel? Not a chance.
Winner: Brad Friedel
Stephen Warnock vs Shaun Wright-Phillips
Wright-Phillips is a menace down the right flank. Even though he lost his England place to Aaron Lennon, he will want to prove to Fabio Capello that he is also a worthy contender for the right winger slot in Capello’s team. Up against 27 year old Warnock, can he torment his opponent and help his team to a victory?
Winner: Shaun Wright-Phillips
James Milner vs Nigel De Jong
Nigel De Jong is the destroyer in City’s midfield. His job will be to contain James Milner and control the midfield in the game. However, Milner will not just sit back and let De Jong control the game. Can Milner stamp his class on De Jong and render De Jong useless?
Winner: Hard to say. Leaning slightly towards De Jong though.
Ashley Young vs Pablo Zabaleta
Young hasn’t hit the form that saw him score 9 goals and create 10 last season. He has only scored 1 goal with no assists to his name yet. He will want to improve on that against Zabaleta. Zabaleta got his place back from Richards after Richards’ poor performance against Manchester United and he is out to prove to Hughes that he is the better right back. If he can shackle Young, Hughes will be doubly assured of his quality.
Winner: Ashley Young
Gabriel Agbonlahor vs Shay Given
The City custodian was unlucky to concede 4 goals against Manchester United after putting up a brave performance. He has conceded 2 goals in the last 2 matches and will hope to improve on that by keeping a clean sheet against Gabriel Agbonlahor. Agbonlahor has scored in every match since the start of the season and he will want to keep that record going for a 7th game. Will he be able to break down a stubborn Shay Given?
Winner: Too hard to say really. Let’s just watch the game.
Prediction: Aston Villa 0-0 Manchester City
